Decentraland is a virtual 3D world platform where users can buy virtual land parcels (using the platform’s own cryptocurrency called MANA) and create and sell clothing and accessories for avatars. The platform was launched by Argentinian developers in 2017 and opened to the public in 2020.
Starting June 19, the platform administrators have announced their annual Game Jam (a game development competition), where users are invited to create an interactive scene on the theme of lucid dreams. A mandatory requirement is the use of artificial intelligence. Participants can join individually, but teams (up to six people) are encouraged. A possible team would include a 3D artist, a writer, and a developer.
The organizers have specified that the outcome of the project does not have to be a game. It could be any creation that transports the participant into the world of lucid dreams. However, it must be interactive: a person must be able to perform certain actions that influence the content of the scene.
The prizes include generous amounts of land and money! However, they hold value only for enthusiasts of the specific platform, as the land parcels are virtual, and the money is local cryptocurrency.
The deadline is 11:59pm UTC on July 10.
What scene would you create?
