The American thrash metal band Death Angel from California was active from 1982 to 1991, and then revived in 2001. It is symbolic that one of the musicians from a group who experienced what can be described as a “creative near-death experience” should also have a near-death experience in real life.
According to Ultimate Guitar, drummer Will Carroll spoke about his battle with the coronavirus, which caused him to spend almost two weeks on a ventilator in an intensive care unit. As the musician described it, while comatose, he saw himself leaving his body and going to hell, where Satan (who, in his vision, was female) punished him for the deadly sin of sloth and turned him into a monster.
Carroll, who is now 48 years old, believes that the near-death experience (NDE) gave him a new outlook on life, as well as faith in a higher power. He did not become religious, but began to treat Christianity more respectfully and seriously. At the same time, he continues to fill his playlist with songs about Satan and sees nothing wrong with listening to and playing such music.
After leaving the hospital, Will was somewhat shocked by his vision. But now it seems like something that happened eons ago. “I don’t think about it too much anymore. Sometimes when I do, it freaks me out and I kind of scare myself. So I’m just trying to learn from the whole thing and take something positive out of it and just keep myself alive,” he laughs.
We should add that such visions may indicate being in a phase state (by which we mean lucid dreams, near-death and out-of-body experiences, etc.). For example, in one of the Phase Research Center experiments, a group of volunteers deliberately reproduced one of the classic variants of the NDE – flying through a tunnel. Similarly, it is possible to organize a meeting with Satan or create any other plot imaginable.
