The importance of the third eye in Indian tradition is well known. Often called the “eye of wisdom,” it’s seen as a gateway to the inner world. But did you know it can also be used to induce lucid dreams? Indian researcher Kiran Anumalasetty has developed a method that helps people induce lucid dreams for therapeutic purposes.
The technique involves several steps:
1. Focus your attention on the area between your eyebrows.
2. Create a gentle throat sound—similar to the whisper of wind (a soft friction in the larynx).
3. Enter a lucid dream using any method you prefer.
4. While dreaming, hold your focus on the third eye, the throat sound, and the dream plot.
5. Then, while keeping your attention on the third eye, mentally replay the dream you just experienced.
According to the researcher, reliving a dream in this way can shift your perception. This process, he claims, grants you access to deeper levels of awareness and new possibilities. The dream becomes a bridge to astral realms, where you can encounter profound relief, healing, calm, a sense of inner wholeness, connection, and love, thus expanding the conventional view of what dreams can be.
Will you give it a try?
The report was presented in June 2025 at the 42nd Annual Conference of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
