– What is the best technique?

– Wake Up Back to Bed, also known as the direct delayed method. As I fall asleep, I visualize the process of swimming. When I realize I am actually swimming, I float to the surface.

– What is your favorite activity to do in the phase state?

– I love exploring new locations. Perhaps one of the most unusual is the looking-glass world. You can enter it by entering any mirror but not exiting it. I regularly rehearse the skill of re-entering a location across different nights. I also actively study techniques for accessing my own memories. So far, these are corridors with doors, like in a hotel. Sometimes, I practice techniques for creating doubles and checking their autonomy, but this is still difficult.

– Is this astral projection for you, or is it something that happens in the brain?

– By practicing lucid dreaming, I developed a theory of levels and was very surprised to see that many other practitioners had also discovered these levels. There is an internal level—the “sandbox” level of our unconscious—where we are kings and gods, and transformations are easy. There are deeper layers of the unconscious (in the form of basements); our fears are here. But, apparently, there are also external levels. I am not saying that someone actually goes somewhere, but there is a very real possibility of connecting to a common space to obtain information, including sensory information. It’s like an MMORPG (online role-playing game) with a thin client on a computer brain and, somewhere out there, powerful external servers.
