Saweetie (real name: Diamonté Harper) is an American rapper. The young woman’s first album, released in 2017, was met with little enthusiasm from the public. Success came three years later: the singer was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and Forbes magazine included her in its “30 Under 30” list of musical performers.

However, as reported by Ice Cream Convos, the young woman falls asleep not to rap but to gospel music (Christian evangelical music originating from Methodist churches in the southern United States). Otherwise, sleep paralysis demons attack her. Saweetie shared that she grew up in an apartment with numerous paranormal phenomena and has always had a connection with entities on the other side.

Despite these mystical thoughts, the singer concludes that they are all related to sleep paralysis: a condition “when you can’t wake up” and “you feel like somebody is sitting on top of you.” Saweetie has noticed an interesting trend: meditation practices intensify such episodes, while falling asleep to gospel music diminishes them.

Can you induce sleep paralysis or deal with it?
