Josie Gibson, host of British TV show This Morning, confessed to suffering from sleep paralysis. In conversation with her co-host, she mentioned that she has “really weird dreams” and experiences sleep paralysis, “which is even weirder.” OK! quotes Gibson about this experience: “You’re awake but you’re still asleep. You think you’re awake but you cannot move.”

However, judging by her other comments, she has overall sleep problems. She goes on stints of several days when she gets only three hours of sleep each night; the effects of this sleep deprivation are so intense that she trembles and feels like she doesn’t exist. In one of the show’s episodes, a doctor strongly recommended that the host get more sleep.

The Times of India describes another star’s struggles with sleep paralysis. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, during an interactive session with fans on social media, confessed to experiencing sleep paralysis several times, which he described as “damn scary.” Interestingly, he stars in horror movies; though he didn’t like them before his acting career, he overcame his fear through this work.

If you’ve ever had sleep paralysis, did the experience scare you?
