In 1989, one of the most high-profile alien abduction cases took place: Linda Napolitano, a former singer—and a housewife living in New York City at the time—went to sleep in her 12th-floor apartment in a high-rise building in Manhattan and suddenly saw three gray, bipedal creatures. She tried to move and make noise, but she was paralyzed. Then, a beam of light lifted her into the air and transported her to a spaceship, where she underwent experiments.

This case presents a clear analogy to sleep paralysis. It’s worth remembering that in an experiment conducted by REMspace, 114 people intentionally initiated an encounter with a UFO in another phase state (lucid dreaming). It’s very likely that Linda suffers from sleep paralysis regularly, as she later reported other abduction cases that also began from her bed.

This story has been revisited by Netflix in the documentary series The Manhattan Alien Abduction. Interestingly, 23 witnesses claim they saw Linda hovering in the air over the skyscrapers. Moreover, Napolitano herself cites an X-ray as proof that something (assumed to be traces of alien experiments) has been lodged in her nose.
