If you have never experienced sleep paralysis (SP) and have no idea how it happens, then head on over to the Paranormal Network channel—dedicated to various unidentified phenomena— where a new series dedicated to the phenomenon has just been released. The series, entitled Waking Nightmare, is based on real stories of people who have experienced SP, with each episode exploring a different nightmare.

As the creators of the show explain, sleep paralysis is a transient state between wakefulness and sleep. The body is paralyzed, and the mind often experiences hallucinations, combining the dream world with reality. Some people grow accustomed to this unusual condition, but for many it causes fear and anxiety. The authors of the show wanted to capture these feelings and specific details of stories about SP.

The first episode presents the SP experience of the director of the program, Justin Moriarty. The video shows a young woman who goes to bed. Then, in the dark, the door of her room slowly and ominously opens, and an obscure black figure lies down on the bed. The demon of sleep paralysis bends over the heroine, and the actress tries to show fear as much as possible without moving.

The channel promises to release new videos every week, scheduled on Thursdays. The first episode was released on July 21 and is available on YouTube.
