Nicolas Cage is an American actor who needs no introduction. An Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award winner, his range of roles spans from comedies and melodramas to action films and blockbusters. Currently, he is generating tremendous buzz with the announcement of his new film, Dream Scenario.

In the story, Paul Matthews, a hapless and unremarkable biology professor (played by Cage), leads a quiet life teaching bored students at the university. He goes unnoticed until one day, his fate takes a twist: suddenly everyone around him starts seeing him in their dreams, including complete strangers. At first, he enjoys the unexpected fame that comes with it. Cage’s character playfully ponders during a Zoom interview, “Why me? Uh, I don’t know! I’m special, I guess,” with his trademark awkward smile.

However, the dreams quickly turn from pleasant to terrifying nightmares. As reported by LWA, Matthews becomes the ever-present sleep paralysis demon haunting the entire city. Consequently, his once-devoted fan base transforms into an enraged mob, and the once-beloved professor needs help.

Fortunately or unfortunately, there are no movie spoilers out there just yet. Therefore, viewers can only expect to discover the reason behind these unusual collective dreams (and whether there is a real connection to sleep paralysis or it is just a metaphor) on the announced premiere day, November 10th.

The trailer is available on YouTube.

Let’s speculate: how do you think the movie ends?
