Canadian singer-songwriter RALPH (real name – Raffaela Weyman) posted photos of her and her friend on Instagram sniffing flowers found in bushes near the sidewalk. The women arranged a kind of photo-shoot, but soon began feeling unwell. “When I got home and fell asleep, I had the craziest dreams and experienced sleep paralysis for the first time in my life,” Raffaela said.

According to Newsweek, the flower called “angel’s trumpet,” whose fragrance the singer inhaled, is in fact a hallucinogen. It contains, among other things, scopolamine, also known as “Devil’s breath” – an extremely dangerous substance often used for criminal ends. This drug can turn people into zombies, making them enter a hypnotic state, while leaving their ability to move and speak unaffected. Criminals can force the victim to commit robbery or rape, without remembering anything the next day. The substance is usually made into a pill or powder, which is sometimes simply blown into the victim’s face.

“Turns out the flower is super poisonous and we accidentally drugged ourselves like idiots,” added Raffaela, whose experience of contact with the substance was, fortunately, limited to sleep paralysis. Let us add that sleep paralysis is one of the phase states, which also includes lucid dreams, false awakenings, near-death and out-of-body experiences.

Do you know any substances that provoke phase states? Don’t forget to list all the dangers involved, if any.
